BLACKPINK Invited as guests
The entire group Blackpink appeared on a live broadcast in the UK.
On the 22nd, President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Kun-hee attended the state dinner held at Buckingham Palace, England. On this day, the state dinner was broadcast live on various media outlets.
The state dinner included not only President Yoon Seok-yeol, but also Blackpink's Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo. It appears that they were invited as special guests to President Yoon Seok-yeol's welcome dinner.
King Charles III of England called out the names of each Blackpink member and said, "Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, well known as Blackpink, played the role of public relations ambassadors to convey the message of environmental sustainability to people around the world." Each member responded with a bright smile.
As Blackpink, who debuted in August 2016, has released many hit songs, attention is focused on whether or not they will renew their contract with their agency YG Entertainment .
While rumors have emerged that each member is taking an independent path, YG recently announced its position through a quarterly report. At the time, YG said, "As of the disclosure date, the exclusive contract with the artist is being negotiated for renewal, and the final result will be announced later through the disclosure of 'Major management matters related to investment decisions'."
In response to the recent report that Blackpink will maintain group activities, YG said, "Nothing has been confirmed (regarding Blackpink's future group activities) and we are in discussions." Amidst the rumors, there is growing support for the theory that Blackpink will continue to promote as a group after appearing at the state banquet.
