Popularity awards of the AAA 2024 Opend
The preliminary voting for the popularity awards of the Asia Artist Awards 2024 (AAA 2024) has officially opened, with 100% of the results based on fan votes.
On October 15, MBC PLUS announced that the preliminary voting for the 9th Asia Artist Awards' popularity category will be held through the Idol Champ mobile app, developed in collaboration with the mobile advertising platform company TNK Factory. The Asia Artist Awards is an annual ceremony hosted by Star News, which honors K-pop, K-drama, and K-movie stars who have shone throughout the year in Asia and Korea. The 9th AAA event will take place on December 27 in Bangkok, Thailand, with Jang Wonyoung and Sung Hanbin confirmed as hosts.
In the singer category, artists like NewJeans, BIBI, ZEROBASEONE, NCT 127, QWER, WayV, LE SSERAFIM, SUHO, KISS OF LIFE, WHIB, TWS, and &TEAM have been confirmed to attend. Meanwhile, actors like Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Hye-yoon, Park Min-young, Byun Woo-seok, Ahn Bo-hyun, and Jang Da-ah have also been confirmed, with more attendees to be announced soon.
The popularity voting on Idol Champ covers four categories: Best Male Actor, Best Female Actor, Best Male Singer, and Best Female Singer.
Voting will be conducted in two stages: the preliminary round from October 15 to October 31, and the final round from November 4 to November 20.
In the male singer category, nominees include Lim Young-woong, HORI7ON, BOYNEXTDOOR, BamBam, The Boyz, Baekhyun, Eclipse, &TEAM, ZEROBASEONE, and BTS. For female singers, the nominees include NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, Eunice, IVE, Secret Number, TWICE, BABYMONSTER, Song Ga-in, QWER, and NMIXX. The competition for the popularity awards is expected to be intense.
In the male actor category, nominees include Byun Woo-seok, Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Seon-ho, Cha Eun-woo, Na In-woo, Lee Jun-ho, Kim Young-dae, Lee Joon, Jung Hae-in, and Park Hyung-sik. Female actor nominees include Kim Hye-yoon, Kim Ji-won, Park Min-young, Suzy, Lim Yoon-a, Kim So-hyun, Kim Yoo-jung, Lee Se-young, Kim Se-jeong, and Jung So-min.
Additionally, participants in the popularity voting will have the chance to win various prizes, including tickets to AAA 2024 and voting points, through special events on Idol Champ during the voting period.
Idol Champ is a fan engagement app developed by TNK Factory and MBC PLUS. Since its launch in 2016, it has offered services like ranking votes, charts, and fundraising connected to idol programs, earning great popularity among users.
