BABYMONSTER Shares Their Excitement About Collaborating with G-Dragon: "Is This Real?"
Girl group BABYMONSTER expressed their thoughts on working with the legendary artist G-Dragon.
On the morning of the 1st, BABYMONSTER (members Luka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, and Chiquita) held a press conference at YG Entertainment’s new building in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of their first full album, DRIP. BABYMONSTER aimed high with this album by releasing two title tracks.
The main title track, also called DRIP, is an EDM-based dance song blending BABYMONSTER's unique, confident attitude with YG’s signature hip-hop vibe, with G-Dragon participating in its composition.
Another title track, CLIK CLAK, pre-released with a music video, features an original hip-hop genre and leaves a strong impression as a prepared newcomer carrying the YG DNA. For the first time, all members challenged themselves by rapping, each contributing their unique tones and styles, creating a distinct charm with the intense vibe of the track.
During the press conference, Rora spoke about G-Dragon’s involvement in composing DRIP, saying, “When we first heard the news, everyone was absolutely shocked. We kept asking, ‘Is this real?’ We’re determined to work hard to repay and show appreciation for his contribution.” Asa added, “When we listened to G-Dragon’s demo, we tried our best to follow his style and swag. All seven members put in a lot of effort and attention during recording.”
When asked if they received any advice from G-Dragon, Rora responded, “Rather than receiving specific advice, the demo itself explained everything. Our rappers put in a lot of effort to embody that hip-hop vibe. When you listen to the track, you’ll be able to tell how hard we worked,” she said confidently.
BABYMONSTER’s first full album DRIP is set to release on various online music platforms on November 1 at 1 p.m.
