SEVENTEEN Tops Japan’s Oricon Daily Singles Ranking with Fourth Japanese Single

SEVENTEEN’s fourth Japanese single has debuted at the top of the Oricon Chart, solidifying the group’s immense popularity in Japan.

According to Oricon’s latest chart (dated November 26) released on the 27th, SEVENTEEN’s fourth Japanese single, Shohikigen (消費期限, "Expiration Date"), sold 362,369 copies on its first day, securing the number one spot on the Daily Singles Ranking. The title track, Shohikigen, is an emotional ballad that reflects on the concept of the "expiration date" of emotions, showcasing the members’ delicate expressive abilities. The song was also featured as the theme for the popular NHK drama 未?の私にぶっかまされる!? ("Attacked by My Future Self!?"), generating buzz even before its release.

The accompanying music video for the track has also gained traction, topping Line Music’s Music Video Top 100.

SEVENTEEN has consistently demonstrated their dominance on Oricon charts, with their best album 17 IS RIGHT HERE released in April and mini-album SPILL THE FEELS released in October both reaching number one on the Daily Album Ranking. Additionally, the first single by members Jeonghan and Wonwoo, THIS MAN, topped the Daily Singles Ranking in June. With the success of Shohikigen, SEVENTEEN’s popularity in Japan remains undeniable.

The group is further expanding their influence with their Japanese dome tour, SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN. The tour kicks off on November 29–30 at Vantelin Dome Nagoya and continues to Tokyo Dome (December 4–5), Kyocera Dome Osaka (December 12, 14–15), and Fukuoka PayPay Dome (December 19, 21–22). Alongside the concerts, SEVENTEEN is hosting city-wide concert-themed play parks, SEVENTEEN THE CITY, in the tour cities (Aichi, Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka), further engaging fans and amplifying their presence in Japan.
