ZEROBASEONE unveil first Japanese EP, PREZENT

The boy group ZEROBASEONE is set to captivate fans with a diverse new album, solidifying their dual popularity in Japan and Korea.

ZEROBASEONE (members Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, Park Gunwook, and Han Yujin) recently unveiled an album sampler and music video teaser for their first Japanese EP, PREZENT, through their official YouTube channel. PREZENT is a gift-like album created to express gratitude to their fans, "ZEROSE," for their unwavering support during the group’s Japanese debut. The album features six tracks, including four original Japanese songs and Japanese versions of two Korean hits.

The album sampler showcases a miniature house with windows, each revealing objects related to the tracks as the songs play, captivating fans with its creative presentation. The music video teaser evokes the vibe of a youth film, heightening anticipation for the full release. The album includes two title tracks, demonstrating ZEROBASEONE's broad musical range.

The first title track, "NOW OR NEVER," delivers a heartfelt message of holding onto love despite the distance, blending drum-and-bass with rock sounds. The second title track, "Only One Story," is an uplifting anthem that encourages adventurers, and it has been selected as the opening theme for the popular Japanese TV anime Pokémon. Other tracks include the disco house-inspired "Firework" with its soaring melody and the fan-dedicated "HANA," which combines powerful rock sounds with emotional vocal delivery. Additionally, Japanese versions of theirKorean tracks "Feel the POP" and "GOOD SO BAD" add variety to the album.

ZEROBASEONE made an impressive debut in March last year with their Japanese single ゆらゆら -運命の花- (Yurayura -Unmei no Hana-), achieving "half-million seller" status within a week. The single received Double Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for over 500,000 units shipped. It also ranked first on Tower Records’ 2024 Bestsellers K-POP TOP20 and 16th on Billboard Japan's annual Top Single Sales chart, further amplifying expectations for PREZENT.

Ahead of the release of their Japanese EP PREZENT on January 29, ZEROBASEONE has announced a surprise Korean comeback, drawing global fan attention. They are set to return with their fifth mini-album in February, with the pre-release of the track "Doctor! Doctor!" on January 20.
