IVE: "'REBEL HEART' Has Points Everyone Can Relate To" [Magazine Cover Shoot]
The group IVE has graced the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.
On January 15, the fashion and lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan unveiled its February issue cover featuring IVE, along with a photo shoot and interview. Reuniting with Cosmopolitan after two years, IVE showcased a more mature and stunning look in front of the camera. This special shoot, in collaboration with global brand Dyson, was designed to celebrate Valentine’s Day, drawing even more attention.
Using Dyson's signature devices and various products, IVE presented sleek and glossy hairstyles while suggesting romantic gift ideas. Throughout the shoot, the members impressed with their diverse expressions and poses, delivering polished results with every cut. Despite the long day of shooting, they maintained their bright and professional demeanor, earning admiration from the staff.
The interview conducted after the shoot was also revealed. IVE kicked off 2025 with an impressive achievement at the 39th Golden Disc Awards, winning three major prizes: the Bonsang for their second EP album IVE SWITCH, the Digital Bonsang for the title track HEYA, and the Global K-pop Artist Award. Additionally, IVE successfully completed their first world tour, SHOW WHAT I HAVE, covering 28 cities across 19 countries in Asia, the Americas, Europe, and South America. They attracted 440,000 attendees, making them the fourth-largest girl group tour in history.
When asked if they feel their growth as they perform on increasingly larger stages, Jang Wonyoung remarked, "I don’t think the love from fans is proportional to the size of the stage. It’s not about the scale, but about feeling that we’ve been moving forward, looking in the same direction as our fans since debut. I feel the greatest strength when communicating with them."
Lee Seo shared, "I want to grow even more this year so that we can repay the love from our fans. I plan to work hard and show an improved version of myself."
The conversation also touched on IVE’s upcoming third EP album, IVE EMPATHY, set for release on February 3. Gaeul explained, "I think the trailer video for this album does a great job of portraying the theme of ‘empathy.’ In the video, we each have different perspectives and haven’t yet learned to empathize with each other, but it shows the process of learning how to understand one another."
On January 13, the pre-release title track REBEL HEART was released. Ahn Yujin shared her thoughts: "I felt like, ‘This is it! This song has finally come to us!’ That’s how much I loved it." Jang Wonyoung added, "It’s a song with points that everyone can relate to. The music video also highlights the unique characters of all six of us. Each of us expresses a different persona, and that’s reflected in the song as well."
