Lee Seung Gi beats Psy, ranking in first place

On the episode of KBS’s Music Bank that was held at Yeouido KBS Public Hall on November 23, Lee Seung Gi beat Psy’s “Gangnam Style’ with his new song “Return.” It is the title song of the second half of his fifth album, Forest, which was released on November 22. Lee’s sorrowful voice, the repeating melody of the chorus, and the moving lyrics stand out. The lyrics are a reminiscence of the past: “The end of that uncertain season / Did I really love you? Thoughts of you cross my mind all the time / The look of you that resembled the sun in spring.”

This first-place ranking came in spite of Lee’s not having appeared on any music shows since the release of the album on November 22.

Psy, who beat SNSD and made broke a record by taking first place for ten consecutive weeks, stepped down and yielded his place to Lee Seung Gi.
