IU takes number one on M-Countdown with her new song

IU took the number-one spot, defeating Busker Busker’s “Love Is” on Mnet’s M-Countdown with her newly released song “Pink Shoes”. She expressed her feelings about winning by saying, “I thank my fans and all my colleagues at my agency. I’ll do my best to promote the album.”

The song, released on October 7, was inspired by Andersen’s fairly tale “The Red Shoes,” which says you’ll keep dancing if you wear the red shoes. It is of a classic, vintage style based on the big-band swing sound. It is enjoying explosive popularity, sweeping major music charts in Korea.
