Movie ‘The Pirates’s Kim Nam-gil transforms into a comic bandit

Actor Kim Nam-gil took the role of comic, humrous bandit in movie ‘The Pirates.’

Kim Nam-gil, who attended the news conference of movie ‘The Pirates’ that took place in July 2nd, explained “I took the role of a character who became a bandit after opposing the to the Chosun dynasty establishment.”

‘The Pirates’ is about the battle between the pirates, bandits, and Chosun army itself as they are fighting for the lost state seal.

Kim Nam-gil added “For a period of time, I always took a heavy role. Many people around me adviced me to do a character that matches with my personality. So I decided to choose this bandit in ‘The Pirates.’ He’s not a comic person himself but the situation that surrounds him is humorous.”

Meanwhile ‘The Pirates’ is going to be released officially in August 6th.
